"An open trusting heart is a refined tool of perception"

Today, as we arise in our heart consciousness through the Easter energies, I would like to share with you about a book I stumbled upon again recently : the Mastery of love by Don Miguel Ruiz, a toltec descendant sharing his ancestral knowledge with humanity.

The invaluable knowledge of the toltec comes from their tremendous human skills. In the toltec tradition, three fundamental masteries guide us to our true nature which is HAPPINESS, FREEDOM and LOVE.

1. First mastery is Awareness.

To be aware of who we really are. THis is the first step towards freedom because we cannot be free if we dont know what we are or what kind of freedom we are looking for. SAT NAM is the vibration of truth, of our true nature. Why dont we see ourselves with clarity ? Why do we have veils preventing us to see. Because we have unresolved issues from the past that colored our sight our perception of life. Our pain and our previous sufferings have made us take decisions and those decisions are now hampering us to see what is with clarity. Those childhood erroneous perceptions gave us fixed pints of views that are now in the way of accessing reality with clarity and humility.

THE WOUNDED MIND
You have practiced all of your life to be what you are, and you do it so well that you master what you believe you are. You master your own personality, your own beliefs; you master every action, every reac-tion. You practice for years and years, and you achieve the level of mastery to be what you believe you are. Once we can see that all of us are masters, we can see what kind of mastery we have.

When we are children, and we have a problem with someone, we get angry. For whatever reason, that anger pushes the problem away; we get the result we want. It happens a second time — we react with anger — and now we know if we get angry we push the problem away. Then we practice and practice, until we become masters of anger.

In the same way, we become masters of jealousy, masters of sadness, masters of self-rejection. All of our drama and suffering is by practice. We make an agreement with ourselves, and we practice that agreement until it becomes a whole mastery.”

2. Second mastery is transformation

This one teaches us to become spiritual warriors and stalk our actions and reactions so we can BREAK FREE of the knowledge that enslaves us !

Eva Pierrakos  in her book “Path of transformation” talks about the erroneous judgments of childhood, that enslave us. This mastery shows us how to change the dream of our life (in hell) by changing our agreements and beliefs

3. The third mastery is love

It is the result of the 2 other masteries. Love is life itself. When we master love, we align with the spirit of lofe passing through us. We are no longer the body, the mind, the soul, we are love. Then every action we take is an expression of love and love in action can only produce happiness.

When we master awareness, transformation and love, we reclaim our divinity and become one with god. This is the goal of the Toltec.

Toltec philosophy has much in common with the world's major religions: "Jesus said the truth shall set you free. The Buddha said we should see the world as it is, not as it is clouded by prejudice. In Toltec tradition we must work our way through the fog that confuses us with opinions rather than facts. We must learn to return to our own nature,

How can we see ourselves with crystal clarity, be on a path of seeking truth and achieve transformation ?

Start listening and observing your patterns. What makes you upset ? What is hard for you ? What is repeating ? Start being curious about yourself, take notes. Observe. Confront. Then once you have identified some of it, you can start a practice, with breath work and physical movement. We also do this with Mantra chanting. These techniques are designed to moves blocks within, and let them detach from your inner world to be released.

Another way is to see a therapist (or a good friend, or just an elder who has wisdom and to deeply listen ) and confront your points of views with the other.

Another way is to Mind hack : If we observe some basic principles we can get closer to reality. The four toltec agreements are a perfect mirror that lets you see yourself as you are. Not as you wish to be. Not as you pretend to be, but as you really are. We help people find themselves.

The main two are Don't Take Anything Personally. This agreement is considered the most life-altering. Ruiz says our whole life can change if we realize the actions and opinions of others have nothing to do with us. Others are living their own reality, having their own experiences. "If someone says, 'You are a terrible person,' it does not make you so. Likewise, if someone says, 'You are wonderful,' that does not make you so, either." If words or deeds set us off emotionally, it means they have touched a wounded place within us. We should focus on healing our wounds, not on getting even.

And Don't Make Assumptions. We make assumptions because we are afraid to ask questions, Ruiz says. Very often, these assumptions change the course of our lives. For example, we assume that we know what someone else, such as a spouse, thinks, believes, or desires. We should ask questions, express what we want, and communicate clearly or our lives will be filled with misunderstandings, resentment, and lost opportunities.

If you want to challenge your thought patterns, we can work on it together. I’ve been shifting blocks since a while now and start having a clue of what is at stake.

May we know our truth, and allow our outer world to align to it.
